Yanos Michopoulos is a Managing Director at OFSCap LLC and has more than 25 years of international Energy and Infrastructure experience in a variety of regional and global roles.
Based in London, he joined OFSCap to strengthen the team’s presence in the EMEA region and to enhance relationships with corporate clients, Private Equity funds and other international investors both on the investment as well as the operational side. Yanos is also the founding partner of Epiphany Enterprises, a boutique business advisory and value creation firm and a Board member, guest MBA / Exec Ed speaker and leadership coach at various Business Schools in the UK, Europe and the USA. Previously Yanos was Regional VP at Vestas, responsible for Sales and Operations in East Mediterranean countries (reporting to Madrid), as well as Regional VP for Business Development for emerging markets in Central & Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa (based in Hamburg). In between these two roles, he had set-up a Private Equity fund for Energy investments in South East Europe (€100 million first close, with further fund-raising planned for an additional €100 million). Prior to that, Yanos was the CEO of the only Rail operator in Greece, TRAINOSE, a state-owned company, currently being privatised. He began his corporate career with Shell International, spending 18 years in various positions at global and regional levels. His last job was Regional General Manager for Shell Marine Products, responsible for Med, Middle East, South Asia & Africa (reporting to Singapore). Annual turnover of €1 billion.
Yanos studied Physics, first at Athens University, Greece (BSc) and then at Durham University in the UK (PhD). Consequently, his earlier career was as a University Professor at Universities in the UK and Austria.
