Michael Humphries

Michael E. Humphries – Mr. Humphries has some 28 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry and investments banking. He began his career in the international department at Britoil PLC focusing on international oil and gas acquisitions. Subsequently he held senior positions at Samuel Montagu & Co in the London and New York Energy Group; as corporate development director at Great Western Resources Inc., a Houston based E&P company; and as a director at PFC Energy, a Washington DC based energy consultancy firm.

In 1996 Mr. Humphries joined the Washington DC office of N M Rothschild & Sons as a director in the Natural Resources Group focused on cross border M&A and advisory mandates. In 2005 he joined Ferris Baker Watts, Inc. where he started an Energy Investment Baking Group focused on raising capital from US based institutions in private placements, secondary issues and IPOs on the London AIM and the Toronto TSX-V, and in originating and structuring cross border oil and gas transactions. From 2008 to 2010 he was CFO Amber Petroleum Limited, a private E&P company with operations in West Africa. Following the sale of Amber Petroleum Mr. Humphries has had a private energy consulting practice, Redcliff Energy Advisors LLC, focused on international E&P acquisition, investment and financing transactions.

Mr. Humphries has a B.A. (Hons) in Politics and Modern History from the University of Sheffield and an M.Sc. (Econ) in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
